Brian J. Ellsworth grew up in Lakeville, MN. He earned his Bachelor’s from Marquette University and studied abroad in San Sebastián, Spain. After graduating, he worked as an accountant for two years before attending the University of St. Thomas-School of Law. While in law school, Brian interned with the Honorable Judge Kevin Burke of Hennepin County and the Office of Minnesota Attorney General.

Brian moved to Rochester in 2009 and joined VanDerHeyden Law Office. Brian actively volunteers in the community by preparing wills for first responders, filing bankruptcies for people with low income, and helping crime victims to obtain residence in the United States through the U-Visa.

Brian’s personal experience in immigration law stems from his international marriage. His wife Kasia is from Poland and working toward her PhD at the Mayo Clinic. Brian is a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Rochester and the Knights of Columbus.
